A youth was gunned down by some unidentified miscreants at Jurain in the capital early Monday.
The victim was identified as Mohammad Ibrahim, 23, son of Md Abdul Khaleq, was a worker of a local shop, police said.
Quoting the victim’s relatives, Kadomtoli Police Station Sub-Inspector Alamgir Hossain said that miscreants numbering four to five swooped on Ibrahim at Nabinbagh in Jurain around 1:00am and opened fire at him, leaving him critically injured.
Victim’s brothers Anwar and Harunur-Rashid, who also work with him at the same shop, took him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the on duty doctors declared Ibrahim dead around 2:00am.
The gangsters safly fled from the scene, he said.
Reasons behind the killing could not be known immediately, the SI said.
The body was sent to the DMCH morgue for an autopsy, he added.
