Youth seriously injured while making bomb at Hijla

An youth was severely injured in blast during making bomb at home in Hijla upazila of Barishal district on Thursday night.
Sajjad Hossain, Officer in Charge of Kazirhut Police Station, auditing the fact said that Rakib Maal, 18, a workshop worker, was severely injured while he was making explosives at his home in Andharmanik Union of Hijla Upazila of the district.
 According to police sources, the incident took place at a house behind Hijla Godown at Khunna-Gobindpur area of the union on Thursday night.
Seriously injured workshop employee Rakib Maal, son of Kalam Maal, was sent to Hijla Upazila Health Complex and then to Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital for better treatment on early Friday .
The locals said Rakib Maal and his mother were in the house, when it explode sounding a big bang on Thursday late night, there is a huge noise. Later the locals rushed to the house, they found left leg and both hands of Rakib were badly injured.
Kazirhat Police Station Officer in charge said the explosion occurred when Rakib was trying to make a bomb. Police recovered some explosive materials and bomb making equipment from the spot. His house is currently locked and Rakib has been rushed to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, the director of SBMCH Bakir Hossain said the young man’s one hand was almost severed in the blast.
Police said it was not immediately clear what the motive of making the explosive was not clear and police investigating whether it was an accident or preparation for committing a criminal Act.
