Police have recovered a stabbed dead body of a youth on Tuesday morning from the roof top of passenger launch MV Sundarbon-11 sailing on Barishal- Dhaka-Barishal route.
Later the body was identified as Shamim Howlader (22), employee of Abir Fashion of Narayanganj and a native from village Kokila under Nalchity Upazila of Jhalakati district, confirmed Nayon, a maternal uncle of the victim. Shamim taking leave was coming to native village boarding on the launch on Monday night, family sources said.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barisal River Police Abdullah Al Mamun told the launch left Dhaka Sadarghat river port at 9:00 PM on Monday and reached Barishal river port at 4:00 AM Tuesday.
