UNB, Bagerhat :A youth was killed and another injured in a lynch-mob attack while fleeing after killing a local leader ofJatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal in Madrasah Bazar area of Sadar upazila on Monday The deceased JCD leader was identified as Abul Kalam Azad, 28, joint secretary of Bemarta union unit of BNP’s student wing and son of Abdul Aziz of Bishnapur village while lynching victim is Razib Hawladar, 24, son of Faruk Hawladar of Kalabaria village in the upazila.Mohammad Nizamul Haque, superintendent of Bagerhat police, said Razib along with his associate Mamun Sheikh stabbed Azad while he was returning home from Madrasah Bazar around 10:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.Hearing the screams of Azad, locals rushed in and found him lying in a pool of blood.Soon, they chased the killers and caught Razib and Mamun. Later, the angry mob gave them a good thrashing, leaving Razib dead on the spot.On information, police rushed in and rescued Mamun. They also recovered the two bodies and sent those to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, BNP activists brought out a procession on Sadar Hospital premises in the afternoon protesting the killing of the JCD leader.
