A young man was stabbed to death by rival over previous enmity at Panchkitta village of Muradnagar upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 24, son of Abdul Malek, a resident of the village.
Quoting locals, Mohammad Nurul Alam, sub-inspector of Muradnagar Police Station, said there had been an enmity between Nazrul and Abul Hossain, 28, of the village.
As a sequel to that, they locked in an altercation at night.
At one stage, Abul stabbed him indiscriminately which left him dead on the spot.
Later local people caught Abul and handed him over to police.
