A young man was killed and 50 others injured in clash over taking possession of a water body at Joynagar village in Jagannathpur upazila on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 35, a resident of the village.
Quoting locals, police said there had been a longstanding dispute between the men of London expatriate Gias Uddin and over villagers over possession of the water body.
The clash ensued with a local Dabir Uddin when the supporters of Gias Uddin went to the water body around 5pm.
Nazrul received bullet and died on the spot.
