UNB, Satkhira :
A young man was killed and another person injured in an attack by rivals over a land dispute at Muragachha village in Tala upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Khaleque Sardar, 26, son of Sayeed Sarader of the village.
Victim’s uncle Samad Sardar said Sayeed had long been at loggerheads with Dhona Sardar of the village over a passage.
As a sequel of the enmity, Dhona’s son Rahmat Sardar, wife Isamati, two daughters Nuri Begum and Sharbanu Begum and daughter-in-law Halima Begum swooped on Khaleque around 7am and beat him mercilessly.
As victim’s uncle Razzak Sardar came to rescue him, attackers also beat him, injuring them.
The injured were first taken to a local hospital where Khaleque was referred to Khulna Medical College Hospital for better treatment. However, he died on the way.
