A youth was killed by a group of boys over a trivial matter in the city’s Khulshi area on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Amir Hossain, 20, son of Mahbubur Rahman, hailing from Diesel Colony area under city’s Khulshi police station.
Police said Amir was critically injured as five boys hit him with cricket stumps following an altercation over a mobile phone on Friday last, police said.
He was admitted to a private clinic where he succumbed to his injuries around 8-30pm yesterday. Victims’ family has filed a case in this connection.
“The attackers were all students of different classes in an NGO-run school in the city”, police said adding that they had been absconding after the incident.
