A private university student was killed in a train accident at Uttara in the city on Saturday. The deceased was identified as SM Aminul Islam, 22, an honors student of Computer Science and Engineering Department of South Asia University.
“Aminul was crushed under the wheels of a Dhaka-bound train coming from Rajshahi at Courtbari rail gate of Uttara around 1.15 pm while he was crossing the rail line talking over mobile phone,” assistant sub inspector Abdul Aziz of Dakhhinkhan Police Station told BSS.
Railway police later recovered his body cut into several pieces and sent it to the morgue of Dhaka medical College Hospital for autopsy.
An unnatural death case was lodged in this regard.
