A youth died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Friday noon after he was injured in miscreants’ attack over a trifling matter at Ramu upazila of the district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Babun Barua, 26, son of Sunil Barua of Madhyam Merongloa area under Fotekharkul union in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar and a mobile easy load (money recharge) trader.
Sources said, on Thursday Ripon Barua Bappi, 30, went to Babun’s shop to load mobile money recharge. As Babun was delaying, Ripon was locked in altercation with him. Following the incident, Ripon with his men attacked Babun leaving him seriously injured on Thursday night. He was rushed to CMCH and died there at 1pm on Friday.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Ramu Police Station Saikul Ahmad Bhuiyan confirmed the incident saying that police are trying to nab the miscreants.
