A young man was killed allegedly by his brother-in-law over not repaying borrowed money at Daripara village in Daulatpur upazila early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Janarul Islam, 30, a resident of the village.
Police said Janarul borrowed some money from his brother-in-law Rafiqul Islam a few days back.
On Tuesday night, Rafiqul locked into an altercation with Janarul as he delayed repaying the loan money.
At one stage, Rafiqul hacked Janarul with a sharp knife around 1am, leaving him injured.
Later, he was whisked off to Doulatpur Hospital were on-duty doctors declared him dead.
