Police arrested a young man on Tuesday night from near the Teachers-Student, Centre (TSC) on the Dhaka University campus and recovered from him a pen drive containing some offensive pictures of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and derogatory remarks about her.
He has been identified as Haidar Ali Mijhi alias Mamunur Rashid alias Mamun, 24, son of Abdus Sattar Mijhi from Purbo Masumpur village under Ramganj upazila in Laxmipur district.
Sub-Inspector Subrata Goldar of Shahbagh Police Station said that Mamun was picked up when he was moving suspiciously in the
area around 8:30pm.
While interrogating him in the police station, police found some distorted pictures of the prime minister and some disparaging comments about her in his pen drive.
Later, a case was filed under the ICT Act and Mamun was shown arrested in the case.
