UNB, Joypurhat :
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members arrested a young man along with 10 gold bars from bordering Koya area in Panchbibi upazila on Monday.
The detainee was identified as Sohel Rana, 33, son of Nur Mohammad of Chechra in the upazila.
Lt Col Rashed Mohammad Anisul Haque of BGB Battalion-20 in Joypurhat said acting on a tip-off a team of the paramilitary force conducted a drive in the area around 12 pm and detained Sohel.
Later, they recovered 10 gold bars from his procession, he said, adding that Sohel along with gold was handed over to Panchbibi Police Station.
