Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a youth from city’s Akbarshah area early Sunday for his alleged involvement in spreading rumor against the state.
ASP Mashakur Rahman, senior assistant director of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) 7, said arrested Rahidul Islam alias Rahat Kabir, 22, is the son of Mohammad Taslim Uddin, hailed from Borhan Uddin upazila of Bhola district..
A case has been filed against the detainee with Akbarshah thana under Digital Security Act (Security Act), he said. Earlier, Rahat spread rumor in his facebook post against Prime Minister and the state, he added. Two mobile phone sets used in spreading rumor in social media were recovered from his possession.
