Gournadi police arrested one Rakib Sardar, 20, son of Shahin Sardar, Bezhar village under Gournadi upazila of Barishal on early Sunday as an accused for violating and blackmailing a college girl by recording video on mobile phone.
Mahbubur Rahman, Officer- In -Charge (Investigation) of Gournadi police station, said victim as complainant lodged a case on May 16 in this connection.
After arresting, the main accused Rakib sent to jail producing before the judicial magistrate court on Sunday afternoon.
Sub Inspector Tajul Islam, investigation officer of the case, said in the case the complainant HSC examinee of a local college alleged that she was married and her husband was an expatriate worker in Middle East.
On April 30, the accused forcibly entering in her rented home violated her and recording that started blackmailing giving threats to circulate those video in social media.
However after the victim protested the crime, the accused sent the copy of the video to her expatriate husband on May 14.
Then the victim informing police lodged the case on May 16 under sections of the act for preventing torture against women and children and the act against pornography.
Police sources said Rakib was a spoiled boy and earlier also accused in different criminal activities including stealing mobile phone.
