Police arrested a youth for allegedly harassing the Bangladeshi Cricketer and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan’s wife Umme Ahmed Shishir early Thursday.
The arrested youth has been identified as Rahid, 23, son of a businessman and resident of city’s Banani.
Mirpur police Sub-Inspector Md Russel said that they had arrested Rahid from his Banan’s residence.
Rahid is one of the accused in the case filed by Shakib, he said.
“We are looking for several others based on the description given by Shakib,” said Russel, who is investigating the case.
Shishir was allegedly harassed in the
Mirpur National Cricket Stadium gallery on June 15 during a match against India.
Shakib filed a case the following day with Mirpur Model Police in the connection with the incident.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) security staff clubbed several others who teased females on the day when the game was halted due to rain.
