A young man was gunned down by miscreants at Charlapang village of Nabinagar upazila on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Shamim Sarker, 26, son of Almas Sarker, resident of the village.Raju Ahmed, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Nabinagar police station, said that criminals from the adjoining areas including Raipura thana of Narsingdi district took shelter at the village after committing crime.Following information, a team of police along with local Awami League leaders went to the village in the afternoon. Several moments after reaching the police team, a gang of miscreants riding on ¾ engine-run-boat from Meghna river opened fire on Shamim, leaving critically injured.
