Police recovered the floating body of a young man from a pond in Raikdara area of Osmaninagar upazila on Sunday evening.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Locals spotted the body of the young man of nearly 25 in the pond, owned by one Mokaddes Ali of the locality, around 7:30pm and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Mohammad Mursalin, officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station, confirmed the incident.
