The throat-slit body of a youth was recovered from Kalidaskhali Char area at Bagha upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Jakir Hossain, 22, a farmer and son of Khalek Mollah, of Chakrajapur union under the upazila.
Officer- In- Charge of Bagha police station Nazrul Islam, said locals spotted the slaughtered body of Jakir in mustard field around 11am and informed police.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Quoting the family members and locals, OC also said, the youth might have been killed following a previous enmity.
Victim’s father Khalek Mollah, said that “Jakir went out of home after finishing Isha namaz for buying medicine as he was sick. Since then he did not return home. After a long searching, locals traced Jakir’s slaughtered body and then we rushed there and identified him.”
