Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered the body of a young man from a boat along Rokanpur border point in Gomostapur upazila here on Sunday morning, two days after he had gone missing.
The deceased was identified as Asadul Islam, 25, son of Entaj Ali, a resident of Joshoil village of the same upazila. Lieutenant Colonel Mujib-ul-Haque Shikder, commanding officer of BGB-43, said two unidentified men brought body of Asadul by a boat near border pillar no 219/71 around 9:30 am. Sensing the presence of the BGB members, the duo fled the scene leaving behind the boat. Later, they recovered the body from the boat. It couldn’t be ascertained immediately how the youth was killed.
