UNB, Thakurgaon :
A young man died from electrocution at Malipara village in Sadar uapzila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Malin Chandra, 22, son of Amatu Barman of the village. Witnesses said Malin died on the spot when he came in contact with a live electric wire at Farabari Puja Mandap while celebrating Durga Puja in the night.
Prisoner commits suicide in B’baria jail Brahmanbaria, Oct 4 (UNB)- An under-trial prisoner allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Brahmanbaria district jail early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Karim, son of Mohammad Ali of Purba Deobhog village in Nasinagar upazila and an accused in a murder case. Jail sources said Karim took his life by hanging himself from the ventilator of a bathroom early in the morning.
Chief jail guard Shafiqul Islam and jail guard Mokhlesur Rahman have been suspended on charge of neglecting their duty.
The body was sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
