While learning how to swim, a youth of Sylhet city drowned at Sylhet Garden Club Swimming pool on Friday evening.
It has been learnt from family and Sylhet Kotwali Police sources that, Safwan Ahmed (25) S/O Former Imam of Bandarbazar Jame-Mosque Moulana Faisal Ahmed went to the afore said club Swimming pool to undergo practice of learning swimming at around 7.00 p.m. The instructor, after getting him down the swimming pool called out. Soon Mr. Safwan while under going swimming practice, drowned under water.
Later on, without finding his whereabouts his kindreds and friends rushed to the swimming pool and recovered Mr. Safwan, and removed to Sylhet M.A.G Osmani Medical College Hospital where the attending Doctor declared him dead. Mr. Safwan was a Hafez and completed Title (Masters) from Quasimul Ulum Madrasha of Hazrat Shahjalal (R.) Majar Premises.
