A youth drowned in Karnaphuli river at Firingibazar under city’s Kotwali thana on Friday. The deceased was identified as Razib Ghose, 28, son of Priyo Ghose, hailed from the said area. Chittagong Medical College Hospital sources said Razib drowned in the river when he went there to fetch water for ‘Baruni Snan’ around 11 am.
Later, his friends and locals recovered him from the river and sent to CMCH where the attending doctors declared him dead.
