A young man died falling from a betel-nut tree at Shirjug village in Sadar upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rabiul, 35, son of Alamgir Hossain of the village.
Local people said Rabiul suddenly fell from a betel-nut tree at his home yard while picking the nuts around 8 am, leaving him dead on the spot.
A case was filed with Jahalakati Police Station in this connection.
