A young man was killed after being hit by a train in Shutki Potri area of Karwan Bazar in the city on Saturday night, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Sumon, 20, son of Jalil Molla of Joya village of Borhanuddin upazila in Bhola district.
Md. Bachchu Mia, inspector in-charge of DMCH police outpost confirmed the matter.
Sanaullah, a neighbor of the deceased, said Sumon worked as a delivery man of a cold drinks company. “He was hit by a train while crossing the level crossing.”
Later, he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, Bachchu Mia said.
