A youth allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the roof of the ‘One Star Hotel’ on Nazimuddin Road at Bangshal area in the capital on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Sobhan (27) who is the son of Shahjahan Mia and hailed from Faridganj under Chandpur district.
Victim’s brother Manik said that Sobhan was mentally sick for few years.
Manik said that Sobhan jumped from the hotel’s roof at noon. Later, he was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Sobhan died at the hospital in the afternoon, he said.
Bangshal Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) said that the body was handed over to the relatives after autopsy in the evening.
