A youth has ‘committed suicide’ after appearing in a Facebook live video at his house in Sylhet city in a huff with his girlfriend.
Deceased Alhaj Uddin, 20, son of Liakat Ali, was a resident of Dargabaharpur village in Zakiganj upazila of Sylhet.
He passed SSC from Sylhet Government Technical Institute last year.
The victim gave a status on his Facebook wall around 9pm on Wednesday before commuting suicide.
He also uploaded a photo of his girlfriend on the wall.
Later, he killed himself by hanging appearing in the live which went viral in social media.
After the incident, the youth’s Facebook ID has been blocked.
Alhaj Uddin’s uncle Afzal Hossain said he developed a relationship with a girl while studying in Sylhet. He committed suicide in a huff with the girl.
Moglabazar Police Station OC Sahabul Islam confirmed the matter.
