A youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house following a family feud in Bayezid Bostami Road area of Chittagong city early on Saturday.
The deceased was Md Nitol, 18, son of Md Jasim, hailing from Charfasion of Bhola, said police.
Police said Nitol invited some of his friends at his house at Salam Colony on Friday night. But he could not entertain his friends as his mother was outside home at that time. Out of anger on his mother, Nitol committed suicide, said police.
He was declared dead at a hospital around 1:30am.
