A young man was allegedly chopped to death by some miscreants in Bockchar-Muroli area of the district town last night.
The deceased was Tarikul Islam, 26, son of Mojaher Ali of Bockchar- Hustala area of the town.
Officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali Model thana Enamul Haque said miscreants of the rival group chopped Tarikul indiscriminately with sharp weapons over previous enmity and establishing supremacy in the area at about 8.30 pm, leaving him seriously injured.
Locals rescued him and sent to Jessore 250-bed hospital where on duty doctors declared him dead.
A case was filed with the thana in this connection.
