Some unidentified miscreants chopped a youth to death on Monday morning at Kalamar Chara union under Moheshkhali upazila of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Md. Zafar Alam, 30, son of Ismail, resident of South Sardar Ghona area.
Officer-in-charge of Moheshkhali police station Alamgir Hossain said that critically injured Alam was rushed to Moheshkhali hospital where duty-doctor declared him dead. The body was sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
