With a motto titled ‘Eradicate food adulteration around the nation’, a 44-member committee of Consumer Youth, a students’ wing of Consumer Care Society (CCS) of Jagannath University (JnU) has been formed at the University Journalist Association office on Wednesday.
Prof Dr Kazi Saifiddin, Dean of Life and Earth Science Faculty of JnU was present as Chief Guest in the program. He formally declared the committee at the closing session of the organization .He praised the achievement of JnU students and requested to all for doing better things for country.
Md Arif Khan and Md Abu Taiyab were selected as president and General Secretary respectively for the next year. The other members of the committee are Ashraful Alam as Senior Vice-President, Mahfujul Haque as Joint Secretary, Nasrin Akter as Organising Secretary, Mehraj Tabassum Shailly as Treasurer, Shariful Islam as Office Secretary.
Inspiring the members of Consumer Youth, Dr Samsul Kabir, Associate Professor of Islamic History Department said, we want to increase consciousness among students to save their life from adulterated food. We are getting sick due to contaminated food. We are facing ‘Great War’ we can win in this war by setting up our mind. He also called upon to protest corrupted businessman.
Polash Mahmud, General Secretary of Consumer Care Society said, we try to free from contaminated food. Though the supreme punishment of giving adultered is capital punishment, it is not stopped in a moment. So, we want to stop this heinous work through the social movement.
Among others, Abu Saleh Sekander Assistant Professor of Islamic History and Culture Department of the university, Mahi Mahfuz Treasure Of CCS, Abdul Malek, former president of JnU Journalist Association (JnUJA) and students of different departments were present in the program.
The program chaired by Ashilur Rahman, former president of Consumer Youth, JnU.
