A youth, who sustained injuries being beaten severely over a trifling matter in Sandwip upazila in the district, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Abu Sayeed, owner of a mobile phone recharge shop and son of late Abul Basar of Mosapur.
Officer-in-Charge of Sandwip Police Station Samsul Islam said a local youth, Shohel, locked into arguments with Sayeed over recharging money in his mobile phone on Friday afternoon.
