Police have arrested a youngman for raping an seven year-old child in Karimganj upazila from Hossionpur upazila of Kishoreganj recently.
The accused is Mozzamel Haque (20), son of Ashraf Uddin of Hasanpur village in Hossionpur upazila.
According to locals and police sources, the child was playing at 12.30 pm on Friday noon. Mozammel took her from there. Later, the child was raped in an empty house in that area. Neighbors rushed to the house after hearing the child’s cries and rescued her. He was later taken to a hospital under treatment.
In this incident, the child’s father filed a case under the Prevention of Women and Child Torture Act with Karimganj police station. After the case, the Karimganj Thana Police conducted a raid and arrested the accused Mozammel.

‘We arrested the accused as soon as we received the complaint, he added.
