Youngsters urged to develop career with IT

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak has called upon the youngsters to develop their career with Information Technology (IT) and contribute to build Digital Bangladesh as charted out in the vision 2021.
“The government has launched the programme to provide world-class IT training to the youngsters to create skilled human resources of 21st century for their participation in building Digital Bangladesh,” he told an orientation programme here on Thursday.
The World Bank financed Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT) Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) organized the programme to sensitize the selected candidates who will participate in the three-month Fast Track Future Leader (FTFL) Training programme beginning August 1.
The minister said the government wants to use the latent talents of younger generation by making them skilled human resources, one of the five pillars of Digital Bangladesh.
“You are talented and you have to make google, facebook. Think big and dream big to develop your career,” Palak said adding that “Without dream no one can succeed in their life”.
Referring to the great leader and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman he said Bangabandhu had a dream to free people from the shackles of Pakistani autocratic regime and make Bangladesh an independent and sovereign country. Bangabandhu made it successful after 23 years of long arduous movement and suffering imprisonment for 12 years, Palak said.
He said if the youngsters who are going to take IT training under FTFL programme should have dream, determination and will they would be successful in building their career in IT.
The minister said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the suggestion of her ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy has undertaken a programme to bring the entire country under digital network by 2018.
“An ample of opportunity will be created after building Kaliakoir Hi-Tech Park on 232 acres of land and the trained youngsters will get jobs there,” Palak said.
He said anyone who has innovation in mind can submit proposal to the ICT
Division as it will provide financial support to implement 1000 innovation
projects in the ICT sector.
Calling upon the youngsters to utilize their latent talents for building
Digital Bangladesh the ICT Secretary Shyam Sunder Sikder said determination
and mindset are must to build career with IT.
Chaired by BCC executive director S M Ashraful Islam the function was also
addressed by LICT Project Director Md Rezaul Karim, Component Team Leader of
IT/ITES Fokhruz Zaman and Project Management Specialist of LICT project
Sarker Abul Kalam Azad.
