Young social workers awarded LG Ambassador

LG Electronics Bangladesh, the multinational electronics company has provided financial support to three young social welfare organizations, who are working to bring positive changes in different areas of the country, says a press release. The young are also recognized as ‘LG Ambassadors’ for their willingness and struggle to work for welfare of the people. The donations and recognition were given at a city auditorium recently.
The recognized organizations are- Batch 97 in Nabinagar, B.baria; Suborno Alo Public Library in Noakhali and Tarunner Ogrodut in Chandpur Sadar.
The ‘LG Ambassador Project’ was adopted to inspire young people who want to be a partner of social change and to help them implementing their dreams. 237 project proposals have been submitted from June to September, 2017 through a campaign conducted on “LG Bangladesh” Facebook page. These three organizations were selected from those proposals by considering sustainability of the projects and organizations’ efficiency for implementation. Edward Kim, Managing Director of LG Electronics Bangladesh said as a chief guest at the program, “Youth power is a powerful tool for bringing changes. Young people of Bangladesh are very enthusiastic.
He said, “we are working to make people’s lives easier and comfortable by improving technological development and innovation in product services.
LG believes in the spirit of ‘Life’s Good’. Today we are delighted to provide financial assistance to these three youth organizations who are working for the socioeconomic development of their respective areas. We hope, LG’s support and recognition will accelerate their way of going ahead.”
In last September, Mosquito Away ACs worth of total 30 thousand USD were handed over to Ad-Din Hospital Dhaka, Chotomoni Nibash and Bangladesh Association for the Aged & Institute of Geriatric Medicine (BAAIGM). We set up a LG Trust for disabled students of Dhaka University in this year and established LG IT Academy for underprivileged children in Jaago School last year.
LG also implemented good water project to ensure the supply of pure water of remote area. The company provided Acs to some organizations including icddr’b.
Coordinator of Batch 97 Hasan Zabed, founding member of Suborno Alo Public Library Pintu Ranjan Das and President of Tarunner Ogrodut Vivian Ghosh received the donations and recognitions on behalf of their organizations from the hand of Edward Kim, Managing Director of LG Electronics Bangladesh.
