Young man rescued from a house after 8 months confinement

A young man was rescued after eight months of confinement in a Kaliganj house of the district on Monday. The rescued was identified as Asif Hossain, 18, son of Nasrin Nahar, an assistant professor of the department of social science in Mahtab Uddin Degree College in the upazila head quarters.
Nasrin Nahar said, Asif was demoralized and tried to lead his life abnormally. As the parents did not allow him to move in indiscipline way, Asif used to torture the parents physically.
Later the family arranged his food from a local hotel at Kaliganj upazila town. But Asif was not satisfied and threatened the parents for life over cellphone. Finding no other alternatives, the family confined him in a room of their house in the town.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Kaliganj Sadequr Rahman said, he contacted to the lawmaker of Jhenaidah-4 constituency Anwarul Azim Anar and officer in charge of Kaliganj police station Aminul Islam. Later they conducted a drive in the house and rescued the young man. Three persons including a police man were injured during the rescue drive when the door of the house was broken.
Asif was sick and admitted to Upazila health complex at Kaliganj, Upazila nirbahi officer said.
