A teenager was allegedly raped by a local Juba League leader in Sonatola village under Avainagor Upazila of Jashore district on Friday night.
The alleged perpetrator Nazil Mollah 35 son of Nowsher Mollah, who is the president of ward no. 3 of the Siddhipasha union unite of Juba League, youth wing of ruling Awami League, has been absconding since the crime, said Goutom Mondol , a sub-inspector at Amtola Police Outpost.
Locals and police sources said , the accused accused Nazim Mollah had developed a love affair with the daughter of Deburhat village of Rampal police station in Bagerhat district for a long time. At one step , on Saturday he brought the girl from Bagerhat to the Avainagor, who was supposed to marry and took her to his house in the village of Sahidul Sardar in the evening.
Nazim Mollah was forcibly raping the young girl more times at his resident. on secret information the villagers surrounded the house and rescued the young girl and handed her over to the local police camp on Saturday morning . During this time, rapist Nazim was able to flee.
The victims father said that he could not find her daughter for a few days. When he received information from Abhaynagar police station , he came and heard about the condition of his daughter and became unconscious.
