Head Coach of West Indies Cricket team Phil Simmons said the young cricketers of his squad have chance to shine against Bangladesh in the upcoming three-match ODI series and two-match Test series.
He said, ” My massage to all the cricketers of my team that you are not here to fill in.
You are here to prove yourself hear. You get a chance now to confirm your place in the squad. If you perform well here, it will be a good chance for you to move forward. You arrived here and if you show well in the three ODIs and two Tests, you will seal your chance in the team and nobody can move you. Only you get the opportunity.”
West Indies Cricket team reached Dhaka without their star players Jason Holder, Kieron Pollard and Darren Bravo. They did not arrive here due to personal reasons.
Besides, Sheldon Cottrell, Evin Lewis, Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran also refused to come Bangladesh. Thus Cricket West Indies sent an inexperienced squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh.
