The right leg of a woman was crushed by the wheel of a bus as she was getting off of it in Malibag intersection area of Dhaka on Friday afternoon (May 4). The victim, identified as Nilufa Begum, 40, wife of one garment worker Azizul Kazi from city’s Adabar area, was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at first and then transferred to National Orthopedic Hospital. One witness Jamshed Al Main,
who rescued the victim to hospital, told Banglanews that he was traveling on a rickshaw while accident took place. Nilufa fell on the road while getting off from the moving bus and her right got crushed by the rear wheel of the vehicle. DMCH Emergency Department on-duty doctor Asraf Kabir told Banglanews that victim’s right foot was seen injured in the X-ray report and she was sent to National Orthopedic Hospital for better treatment. Recently, a college student Rajib died after losing hand between two buses competing on city road and another domestic help Rojina AKhter died after losing leg by bus in Dhaka.
