Mother of three children was gang-raped by three persons at gun point in her house at Nabogram village in Dhansiri union of Kabirhat upazila in Noakhali district on Thursday.
The woman filed a complaint with Kabirhat Police Station on Saturday afternoon, said Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Hasan.
Citing the victim, OC Hasan said that three persons, including one Zaker Hossain, of the same area entered the woman’s house around 1:00am and gang-raped her.
According to the victim, her husband is now in Noakhali jail. In his absence, three men entered her house and violated her. She identified one of the trio, the OC said.
But OC Hasan could not confirm immediately in which case the victim’s husband is in prison.
Police, however, conducted a drive and detained accused Zaker Hossain, 28, soon after getting the complaint of rape.
Zakir is a local political leader (JL) leader of the union, the OC said quoting locals.
The rape victim was sent to Noakhali General Hospital for medical test.
