A match-winning unbeaten ton by Yasir Ali steered Bangladesh U-19 team to clinch the three-match youth ODI series with one match in hand as they beat visiting Nepal U-19 team by 76 runs in the second match on Saturday at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan ground in Savar.
Chasing a winning target of 287 runs set by Bangladesh, Nepal found the chase stiff in the face of tight bowling display by the Bangladeshi bowlers and eventually folded their innings at 210 in 43.4 overs.
Opener Jack Tector top scored for Nepal with 66 runs while John Anderson added 45 as the visitors lost wickets in regular intervals during their chase.
Berry McCarthy (27) and Shane Getkate (18) started well but could not convert those into big scores.
Abu Hayder was the pick of Bangladesh bowlers as he grabbed three wickets conceding 38 runs. He was well supported by Sanjamul Islam and Imran Ali Enam who both shared two wickets each giving away 28 and 46 runs respectively.
Earlier, Yasir Ali hit a magnificent unbeaten knock of 102-run as Bangladesh amassed a challenging total of 286 for 6 from their allotted 50 overs after they were forced to bat first by Ireland.
