Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested 19 alleged smugglers along with two boats and recovered 4 lakh Yaba tablets worth around Tk 20.10 crore from Shahpari offshore of Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar district on Thursday.
Sources at the Coast Guard headquarters said a
team from coast guard Saint Martin station chased two suspected boats at Bhanga, close to Shahpari offshore, around 10:15 am. Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the two boats tried to flee but were finally detained by the coast guard members.
The coast guard team arrested 19 suspected smugglers from the two boats and recovered 4 lakh Yaba pills.
