Director-General of World Trade Organization (WTO) Roberto Azevedo congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her assumption of office of Bangladesh Prime Minister for the third time. In a message, he thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the support of Bangladesh in achieving a successful outcome at the Ninth Ministerial Conference of the WTO in Bali in December, 2013. The WTO DG also expressed his desire to continue and strengthen the relationship with Bangladesh.
On Wednesday, Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov and UNCTAD Secretary-General Dr Mukhisa Kituyi congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Azevedo conveyed gratitude of the WTO for Bangladesh’s longstanding commitment to a strong and viable multilateral trading system, according to a media release issued by the Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
