The day-long writers conference of southern region with book fair held on Friday at Bangladesh Development Society Auditorium in Barishal with great enthusiasms.
Writers of prose and poetry from six districts of Barisal division attended at the conference and book fair of the published works of them in 2018-19 session also arranged at the conference venue on this occasion.
Amader Lekhalekhi of Barishal and Dakkhiner Kobial of Patuakhali jointly organised the programme styled as Dakkhin Bangla Grantha Utsav was attended by about hundred writers of the region presenting their works and exchanging views.
The day-long programme was divided in two sessions presided over by Poet Shafiq Amin, convener of the programme and Jahangir Hossain Manik, president Dakkhiner Kobial.
Poet Sardar Faruk was chief guest and Poet Shahin Reza was main discussant of prgramme conducted by Poet Kamrunnahar Munni.
Among others Writer and Poet Radheshyam Devnath of Patuakhali, Mahmuda Khanam of Jhalakathi, Alok Mitra, Saifullah Nobin of Pirojpur, Dr. Bhaskar Saha, Begum Faizunnahar Shelly of Barishal, Arnob Ashik, Mahbub Lovlu, Nasim Anowar of Dhaka addressed in the sessions of the programme as special guests.
