City Desk :Mrs Sayeeda Zaman, a noted writer, breathed her last at Square Hospital in the city on Tuesday night. She was suffering from brain cancer. Author of 20 books on poems, novels and research works, she got many literary awards for her works which include Madhusudan Award of West Bengal, Poet Jashimuddin Award, Palok Awards etc. She was a life member of Bangla Academy, Asiatic Society and Bangladesh Itihash Parishad. She is the wife of Shahiduzzaman Khan, Executive Editor of The Financial Express and mother of two sons and a daughter.Her Qulkhwani will be held at her residence in the city’s Hatirpool on Friday after Asr Prayers.All the relatives, friends and well-wishers of the deceased are requested to attend the Qulkhwani and pray for the salvation of the departed soul.
