Writer Mushtaq Ahmed’s death is normal: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that writer Mushtaq Ahmed death is normal.
The actual cause of his death would be known after receiving the autopsy report, he said to the reporter at his office in Secretariat in Dhaka on Thursday.
The minister said we made a five-member inquiry committee from our ministry.
DC of Gazipur as well as IG Prison also formed a committee immediately after death of Mushtaq.
The probe committees draw their opinion and made the report after examined video footage, talk to his jail mates and concern physician, he said.
He (Mushtaq Ahmed) went to the bathroom and fainted. He was then given medical treatment in jail and later taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Later, he pronounced dead, he further said.
“All the committees have the same opinion. The death is normal,” he added. The minister said “If there is anything beyond that, I will let you know when the postmortem report comes.”
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Mushtaq, Cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore for their alleged involvement in spreading anti-government and coronavirus situation-related rumours on social media, in a case filed against them under the Digital Security Act on May 5 last year.
Although Kishor was released from jail on Thursday around 10 months later on bail, Mushtaq died in jail custody on February 25.
