Wrists, fingers of supporters of councillor candidate cut off in Tangail

Supporters of two councillor candidates attacked each other at a polling centre in Bhuyanpur upazila of Tangail on Saturday during the municipality election in the district.
Two people including a woman’s wrists and two people’s fingers were severed in the attack. Six other people were also injured.
Candidates Anwar Hossain and Jahidul Islam’s followers attacked each other at Kutubpur Government Primary School polling station around 11:15am while Anwar’s supporters started vote rigging.
Later, Anwar’s supporters severed the writs and fingers of Jahidul’s followers.
Law enforcement agencies kept the voting stopped at the centre for 30 minutes.
