UNB, Dhaka :
The country’s exporters got together at an emergency meeting to find the future course of action for coming out from the current cycle of huge losses in their business caused by the ongoing blockade and violence.
The meeting is in progress at BGMEA’s Nurul Kader Auditorium with President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturer and Exporters Association (BGMEA) M Atiqul Islam in the chair.
The exporters urged BNP-Jamaat to withdraw hartal and blockade programmes and stop killing people through arson and petrol bomb attacks.
They said the business community needs to be united and demonstrate their strength.
President of Exporters Association of Bangladesh Abdus Salam Murshedy, business leader Tapan Chowdhury, former BGMEA president M Shafiul Islam Moinuddin, former FBCCI leader M Jashim Uddin, and top exporters are there in the meeting.
They observed that the country’s politics is no more in politicians’ hands as petrol-bomb makers and chargers are controlling politics.
Before the meeting, the BGMEA chief made a power-point presentation on the economic loss of the country caused by political violence, blockade and hartal.
