World Tourism Day observed in districts
Kishoreganj
The World Tourism Day was observed in the country on Monday like elsewhere in the world, focusing on inclusive growth in the global travel and leisure arena. Kishoreganj district administration including Bangladesh Tourism Corporation arranged various programs, maintaining the health protocols due to the Covid-19 pandemic, marking the day with the global theme “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”.
A virtual plat from discussion meeting was held in local the Collectorate conference room on Monday. Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Kishoreganj Mohammad Shamim Alam attended as chief guest while ADC (General) Nazmul Islam Sarker presided over.
It was addressed among others by Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr. Mujibur Rahman, Additional SP (Crime) Noor-e-Alam, Magistrate Obaidur Rahman Sohan, Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation Md. Mohasin Khan, District Child Officer Tayefa Hasina, District Press Club, President Mustafa Kamal and Krishak League district secretary Anowar Hossain Bachu.
Sylhet
The World Tourism Day has been observed in Sylhet on Monday through various programs. On the occasion discussion meeting was organized by Sylhet Tourism Club and Sylhet Tourism Industry Cooperative Society Ltd at the Sylhet District Council auditorium on Monday morning.
This year’s theme is “Tourism in Inclusive Growth”.
President of Sylhet Tourism Club and Sylhet Tourism Industry Cooperative Society Ltd Humayun Kabir Liton presided over this programme. Chief Executive Officer of Sylhet District Council Debjit Sinha attended the programme as chief guest.

Among others who addressed the meeting were Julia Jasmine Milli, Director, Board of Investment and Swarnalatha Roy, President, Sylhet Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
Earlier, a colorful rally came out from the office of Sylhet Tourism Industries Cooperative Society Ltd. at SheikhghatJitumia Point in Sylhet city and went around the city and ended at the Sylhet District Council office.
Gouripur
The World Tourism Day was observed in Gouripurupazila of Mymensingh district in a befitting manner on September 27, 2021 (Monday) aiming to raise awareness among the people about the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic values.
This year the theme of World Tourism Day is ‘Tourism for Inclusive Growth’. It aims to help people associated with the tourism sector in every possible way.
Marking the day, Creative Association and the Electoral Committee for Pen Award Affairs chalked out various programmes, including a human chain, rally and discussion meetings.
