Under the auspices of Bagerhat district administration and Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, rhe World Tourism Day was observed in Bagerhat district on Monday in a befitting manner aiming to raise awareness among the people about the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic values.
The theme of the Day was “Tourism for Inclusive Growth.” It aims to help people associated with the tourism sector in every possible way. In order to mark the day in the morning a-8 kilometer long Road Show was held here.
It started from the local Swadhinata Udyan and ended at historic and the World heritage Saitgumbaz mosque, 8 kilometers off the district town. More than two hundred motor bikes, jeeps and cars of various departments like tourism department, tourist police Fire brigade etc. and several hundred people belonging to the different professions participated in the road show at the mosque premises a lively discussion meeting was held with Khondokar Mohammad Rezaul Karim, ADC, Bagerhat while Mohammad Azizur Rahman, DC, Bagerhat addressed it as the chief guest.
